PRO STOCK is a class of drag racing featuring 'Factory Hot Rods'. The class can

be known as "all motor,"as the cars cannot use artificial induction such as

 turbocharging, supercharging, or nitrous oxide, and there are very strict rules

governing the modifications allowed to the engines, and the types of bodies used.

They must run a manually shifted 5 speed transmission. In the drag racing world

Pro Stock would be the closest class to your V8 Supercar.

These small block powered machines move from 0-100kph in 1.5 seconds.

Shifting 4 times in under 4 seconds and reaching speeds of up to 310kph in

7.0 seconds flat! They may look like your everyday factory sedan but I can

assure you they are far from stock!

Shane Tucker has been born and bred around ANDRA Championship drag racing. At just 16 he claimed the Australian Jr. Drag Racing Championship.

Tucker turned Pro in 2005 and took just two races to secure his first ANDRA pro series win.  Shane went on to lead the ANDRA pro series Australian championship in his rookie year and went just 5 points shy of winning overall.

 

Shane then took on the big guns and spent 2 years In the U.S with the world’s best, the Cagnazzi racing pro stock team.  On his return to home soil Tucker

again took very little time finding the winners circle, claiming his biggest victory taking out the 2009

Winternationals win. Shane and his father Rob, a former ANDRA Pro Series Pro Stock Champion are determined to bring home another ANDRA Pro Series title to the

Monster Energy Team.

TUCK DRIVES MONSTER ENERGY GXP TO 2ND WINTERNATIONALS WIN!!!!!!



Monster Energy’s Rob Tucker Racing rolled into Willowbank raceway for the Fuchs Winternationals determined to finish the 2012 season with a win. What was different this time around was the crew had plans to enter two cars in the Pro Stock category.


Shane’s eldest sister Kirsten Tucker was steering the Monaro that Shane drove to victory at the 2009 Winternationals, in an effort to gain her ANDRA license and enter the record books as the first ever Australian female to race in the category.  Kirsten successfully accomplished this feat Friday evening with a qualifying pass of 7.77 in front of an eager crowd.


Shane’s Winternationals campaign was monumental, acting as crew chief and offering his experience over the radio to Kirsten, while still maintaining the focus to keep his mind on the task that he had in front of him. With the biggest pro stock field in the history of ANDRA drag racing, making the cut and securing a spot in the top 16 was going to be a battle of epic proportions.


With a steady foot and a quick hand Shane eliminated his competitors one by one, consistently launching the Monster Energy Pontiac GXP from the tree. Round one saw Shane take the win against all time champ Aaron Tremayne, round number two saw the Monster Energy Pontiac dispose of number one qualifier Denis Whiting.


The battle that was to be round three paired Shane up against Australia’s quickest pro stock driver Peter Ridgeway, with a reaction time off the line at 0.013 Shane was on the hunt for his second Winternationals title. The final race of the pro stock category had Shane eliminate newly crowned Australian champion Michael Ali with a pass of 7.10 at 194mph, again highlighting the consistency that was evident during the course of the five day event. The win moved Shane and the Rob Tucker Race team into third position overall for 2012.
